This picture (right) is a video training session for me, Scott. These missionaries are just some of the newest missionaries I train. You are investing in Jessi and I, in turn, I’m able to focus on mobilizing them to their campus assignments – Ohio University, Grand Valley, Cincinnati, and Michigan State. Andrew & Marina are not pictured because they are reporting to universities in Ecuador!
Our ministry is not about Scott & Jessi – it is about what God is doing through our partnership in reaching and changing lives through Jesus.
I trained Pete (blue shirt below), who leads the movement at Central Illinois University [CIU]. Pete passed on to me some encouraging news about how David (below left) and Brian (below right) had made decisions to follow Jesus only 7 months ago.
Last week Pete sat with David (right) to process how God is all-powerful and all-knowing yet how we have free-will. David is hungry to grow in the Lord, so their dialogue left him encouraged. People like David come around because a culture of acceptance and challenging exists.
The CIU Cru culture is a place where conversations about Jesus are common, people are seen for who God made them to be, and what they could be if they allow Jesus grasped their hearts.
Aren’t you encouraged to hear that 21 out of of the average of 100 students attending CIU Cru weekly meetings are new believers who came to Christ through Cru while students in college. What a privilege it is to be a part of a community that has been used by God to see 1 out of 5 of its people come to know Christ! Between last August & December CIU students shared the gospel more than 200 times and engaged over 800 spiritual conversations with their peers. And 70 of our students shared the gospel with a fellow student at least once last semester. Wow, how cool!
What a joy it is to work alongside you in raising up young people who will reach those around them with the gospel for the rest of their lives.
