Thank you so much for praying!
The estimates we’ve heard are that 9,000-9,500 people were in attendance! (We prayed for 10,000 so this is awesome!) It’s hard to say exactly, but it was probably 3,000-4,000 students and the rest community members. Again, so cool!
Dr. Zacharias and Mr. Murray both gave brief talks about “post-truth culture,” which were really thought-provoking, and then they opened up the mic for questions. An RZIM staffer said after that it was one of the best sets of questions they’ve had — a mix of very deep and genuine questions on matters of faith and identity.
One moment that sticks out was when a student asked something like, “How does God view people like me, who want to believe but cannot bring themselves to trust Christ?” (paraphrasing) Dr. Zacharias actually offered to stay in touch with that student as he reads the book of John. It was so powerful!
The MSU Cru movement is now in “follow-up mode.” They’ve got response cards from audience members who wanted to talk more about God and questions about faith, and they’ve divided them among Cru, other campus ministries, and local partnering churches. Please pray for follow-up conversations in the coming weeks and that God will continue to use this night in significant ways in the faith journeys of all in attendance.
