During the last two weeks of August, seven hundred thousand freshmen arrived on the college campuses in the Great Lakes Region. They are new, impressionable, finding their way, and most often open to conversations about God. We know that by the end of their first semester many will be much less open to talking about God. Some statistics show that up to 60% of Christian high school students will walk away from their faith during college years.
The first 8 weeks are crucial in reaching this freshman class. We [Cru] are trusting God to cultivate thousands of spiritual conversations that lead to changed lives. We can’t do this without you – your prayers are vital in anything happening!
Praise God! Because of your investment 7 new missionaries are now ace-to-face with college students to tell them about Jesus this fall!!
• Praise God for the freedom we have to talk about Christ on the campuses in the Great Lakes Region. Ask Him to keep this freedom secure, as there are places where it is threatened.
• Pray for the 700,000 and upperclassmen as well, that God would show them their need for a Savior and that he would bring believers across their paths in the coming days.
• Pray for our Cru Staff and Interns as they seek to meet & engage in spiritual conversations with students and provide opportunities for students to explore & grow in faith in the coming weeks.
• Pray for Jessi as she mentors Cru Interns and myself, as I am training many new missionaries before they report to their ministry assignments.
